2010 Diesel Golf — Is it out yet??

Ok, I have insider information for you on the release of the new 2010 Volkswagen Golf diesel. It’s insider news just because I work at a VW dealership, haha. But here’s the deal.

Official from our Volkswagen rep, the first 2010 Golfs will be coming in October! The diesel models should be coming very soon after the first drop, no official word of when exactly (they never tell us until the cars are coming across the sea it seems).

And I’ve had a ton of customers coming in asking about the 2010 Diesel Golfs. I can understand why. Diesels in general have been plain selling out of stock all across America! Cash for Clunkers (CARS as it’s officially known) has caused anything with great gas mileage to get gobbled up to the tune of nearly 250,000 cars thus far.

It’s got the public interested in a diesel Golf! And a diesel Jetta, diesel Tiguan, diesel Touareg… we wish there were more diesels in America (the Tiguan is not available as a diesel in the US, I just wish it was!).

So if you’re looking to buy a 2010 Diesel Golf, you’ll be in luck very soon in just a few months. Be patient, and you’ll see! I can’t wait to test drive the first one that gets off the truck myself, and be sure to watch here for updates when it does!

2010 Golf Diesel Euro Version Test Drive

Green Car Reports recently had the opportunity to take the 2010 Golf Diesel TDI out for a spin. Only it wasn’t the USA version, it was a Euro version. I wish they’d just import all the euro versions.

On a short 20 mile urban trip (not highway in other words) they averaged 42 miles per gallon — a very respectable number! Which just happens to be the very high standard Obama has set for car manufacturers to be their goal.

Upon taking it for a test drive, they noted the steering seemed notably more responsive and the car seemed “tossable” thanks to the new electric power steering. This isn’t new technology, it’s just new to the Golf in the US.

Of course, these cars will be out soon in the normal American version. I know you can’t wait!
